Acorn Landscape Design is a bespoke landscape and garden design service. Based in Christchurch, Canterbury, I also work on landscape design projects across all of New Zealand. I love connecting with clients, to create the unique outdoor living sanctuaries that reflect their individual needs. I produce high quality landscape designs by combining an analytical design approach with a deep understanding of how people interact with plants and structures.
I work on a range of projects varying in scale from courtyards to large country estates. I collaborate with architects, developers, interior designers and homeowners. My design style is client and site led. I use your taste and aspirations as my inspiration, resulting in garden designs with a fine balance of practicality and elegance.
Lauren is the director of Acorn Landscape Design, and a certified Landscape Designer in Christchurch.
Prior to Lauren's career in Landscape Design, Lauren gained a Masters degree in engineering geology with distinction, and worked as a geotechnical engineer for seven years. After retraining in landscape design, Lauren set up Acorn shortly after. Her depth of understanding for how structures interact with the natural environment gives her a unique viewpoint as a landscape designer, and her earlier experience in consultancy has given her insight into the importance of working closely with clients.

The landscape design process is a phased and collaborative approach. I take time to get to know you, your lifestyle, and your dreams for your garden. Throughout the landscape design process I will update you on my progress with regular meetings after each design phase. To keep the stress off you, I am available for site inspections throughout construction to ensure everything is built in accordance with the design.
The disconnect between New Zealanders and the natural environment has never been greater, but people are realising the importance of spending time outdoors for relaxation, entertainment, and socialising. By creating beautiful outdoor spaces tailored to the individual needs of my clients, I hope to create stronger connections with our outdoor spaces.
